Application:
The modules incorporate 4 pole
change over relays. Therefore, all modules are suitable for Electronic
Ballast (High Frequency Ballast) and Conventional Ballast (Switch Start
Control Gear).

The circuit shall be suitable
for use at 220V - 240V 50Hz +/- 6%.
-
The module comprises battery
charger, solid state automatic device operating a changeover relay,
deep discharge protection circuit, LED charge indicator and NC test
switch.

The method of connection
is by terminal block and a quick release mechanism is fitting so
that leads may easily be removed. Wires of cross sectional area
0.5 - 2.0mm2 may be connected by pushing a solid conductor into
the connection. We only use push connection terminals these not
only give the benefit of fast installation but you cannot over tighten
like you can with screw. This over tightening can cause the connection
to break and some free on delivery to site and thus causing the
product not to work.

The red LED is normally continuously
lit and this shows that a charge current is flowing the battery.
The red LED goes out during the un-switched supply cut or the battery
fails. A charge time of 24 hours should be allowed before testing
the unit for its rated duration.

Distance between module
and luminaire should be kept to a minimum and must be within 1 metre
for the to be self-contained (BSEN60598-2-22). The luminaire shall
be provided with an integral NC test switch for simulating failure
of the normal supply. Manually operated NC test switch shall be
self-resetting.

The unit is confirmed to
provide minimum 3 hours emergency duration upon mains failure.

The ambient temperature
range for the module is 0-70°C but in any event the center side
of can should not exceed 70°C

The maximum operating temperature
of battery packs is 70°C. This should not be exceeded, or the operational
life of the cells will be reduced. (See our batteries figure for
reference)

A battery fuse is incorporated
in the module to protect the battery from heavy discharge.

Although the charger is
already short circuit protected it may be desirable for isolation
to include a fuse in the circuit.

Linking device is possible
to cover a larger selection of the lamps wiliest still optimizing
the lamps performance by maintaining the battery discharge current
from the battery in its ideal current range.
